I’m a licensed tattoo artist who’s always been obsessed with beauty. When I first heard about microblading I was eager to learn. I found and followed one of the best Microblading artist in Texas. When she finally had an available spot in one of her classes I rushed to grab it! That’s it! I had finally taken a class that I fell in love with. From the time I finished the class I started Microblading instantly and fell in love more and more. As you see my business name is Dexterity Brows, which Dexterity means: a skill in performing task, especially with hands. So here I am, your Microblading artist/ beauty artist Crystal West.
Microblading with a little microshading mixed.
Day 1
You may experience redness; Depending on the pigment used you may also see an orange cast where the pigment is placed. This is due to oxidization and should disappear in a few hours.
Day 2
The pigment in the brow area may appear visibly darker than the initial color of the first day. This is a results of the natural oxidation process that takes place in the skin once pigment has been implanted. The pigment is reacting slowly with oxygen in the air, turning it darker.
Day 3
The skin in the brow area should form a crust-like appearance. You should continue to place a moderate amount of ointment on your brows. Avoid over applying the healing ointment.
Day 4-8
The skin in the brow area will continue to crust. During this time, you should experience shedding of the previously formed crust. Please do not pick at the scabbing skin, instead allow it to naturally shed. IMPORTANT: If you peel the crust prematurely, you take the risk of losing the pigment behind it or minor scarring.
Day 9+
The crust should have completely shed and the pigment behind will look very faint. DO NOT PANIC!! The color will return gradually in the weeks to come. The average client will see a return by week two. However, the average healing time is four weeks.
Day 30
Your brows should appear 30% lighter, and with a soft powdery finish. Please be advised that these are semi-permanent brows and will gradually fade. Your lifestyle and skin type determines the longevity of the brows. Avoid direct sun exposure, place sunscreen daily and enjoy your new brows!
What should I do before my appointment?
Leading up to an appointment you should avoid caffeinated drinks the morning of your appointment. Additionally, you should avoid exfoliators 72 hours before services. Ex. Skincare products that contains glycolicacid, Retin A, Renova, and alpha hydroxyl acids. No face scrubs or chemical peels at least two weeks prior.
**Most importantly, avoid alcohol, ibuprofen/aspirin, and any medication or vitamins that may cause your blood to thin for a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment.*
Day 1:
Using distilled water, gently apply light pressure to the brow area, hourly.
Before bed, apply a thin layer of ointment to the brow area using a cotton swab. Never use your finger-tips.
Days 3-10: Wash around area with antibacterial soap (dial soap) to keep area dry. DO NOT put soap directly on brow during healing.
DO NOT allow makeup to leak or flow through brows during healing.
Be sure to avoid excessive sweating.
DO NOT assist in the peeling process. Instead, allow the skin to naturally shed.
Apply a thin layer of ointment to the brow area using a cotton swab once daily until a scab has formed over the brows (never use your fingertips). If the ointment is over saturated, skip an application and allow the ointment to “dry out”
Days 11-14:
Gently cleanse brows with mild soap.
Avoid swimming or exposure to chlorine for 14 days after the procedure.
You may begin make-up application at this time.
I‘ll follow your natural hair pattern and add a few hair strokes with shading, to give it a full flawless yet natural look.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit or call during normal business hours.
